Vestibular Neuronitis

Vestibular neuronitis is a condition characterized as disequilibrium or vertigo originating from the balance nerves that is not associated with hearing loss.

Etiology for Vestibular Neuronitis

Vestibular neuronitis usually arises after an upper respiratory infection.  If the virus makes its way into the inner ear, it can cause damage to the balance nerve (vestibular nerve).
