Labyrinthitis

Labyrinthitis is an infection involving the inner ear that typically causes hearing loss and vertigo.

Outcomes for Labyrinthitis

Most patients will have complete resolution of symptoms of labyrinthitis within several weeks of onset.  Hearing trouble, balance dysfunction, vertigo, and nausea/vomiting will resolve. A small percentage of patients will continue to have residual balance dysfunction that can be helped by vestibular physical therapy .
